NAME: Greg... Yeah,
that's it. Greg
LOCATION: Northern Idaho AGE: Old enough to know what I'm talking about, young enough to still be living with my parents (Putting me somewhere between 7 and 59) MARITAL STATUS: Huh? What's that? FAVORITE FOOD: Hold on, I'm still looking Marital Status up. FAVORITE COLOR: Ooooooh. Am I married? Nope, can't say I am. CONTACT: Q. Who the hell are you? A. I go by many names. Killer B, FrozenShark, Egghatch, Golden Pirana, the list goes on. But you, faithful readers, can call me Greg. I'm a high-swingging cat (Please, by God, don't make me ever say that again!) whose been all along the west coast, looking for stuff to do. Right now I'm stationed in a small little town in Northern Idaho. Yeah, Idaho. It's not a myth. But what kind of person am I?. What are my hobbies? What are my loves? I'm a big fan of the past. Short past. Long past. I'm a huge history nut. While I couldn't tell you the middle names of every other vice president, I could tell you the history of pop culture. I am a huge nostalgia nut, my favorite decade being the 80s and 90s, the decades I grew up in.
Q. What's the history of Pop Arena? A. On the 14th of December, 2002, I decided to start a little website for fun. I wrote a small, plain page, a small little battle between Pac-Man and Kirby, and advertised it on the now-dead Yesterdayland.com for fun. I didn't expect it to shoot off like it did. I got a fair amount of votes in the first day, so I started a 2nd, more christmasy-themed match. Then I made another. And another. And another. After about two months of matches, I decided this site needed something
a little more for flavoring. So, I dug into my childhood, and began to
write articles. During the summer of 2005, I realized that the matches
were taking the site nowhere, so I took them down and have stuck with
the articles ever since. Q. What about these articles? What are those about? A. My very first website, which I never got around to posting on the web, revolved around such articles. They were then forgoten. I post Pop Arena, and after getting a few months into it, I decided to start writing articles again. I only write about what I feel like writing. A lot of the times, that has to do with an old cartoon, a toy, a movie, ect. My favorite things to write about are things that have been left hidden in history. My very first article was one on a cartoon that only about 40 people all together watched, me being one of them. Anything that is hard to find information on, I love to dig up.
Q. What is your favorite thing to write about? A. I'm rather fond of writing about books and magazines. The written word is a medium that most people seem to pass over. I love to bring these things to attention. Whether if it's a dysfunctional magazine, an unknown songbook, or an old book of world records, I've loved and will always love those wacky published things. I'm also a big fan of old cartoons and odd video games, particularly those that came from the 80s.
Q. Can I submit an article? A. At this time, I'm not accepting submitted articles. I may in the future, if life crashes down too hard for me to keep the site up to date, but for the time being, I won't post someone else's work.
Q. You're a nasty poo-poo head! A. I get that a lot.
Q. I have another question. A. If you have anything more to ask, just drop me a line. It's free. |
